The Problem

The client handed over a broad but unfinished POS codebase as a ZIP: known bugs, inconsistent modules and delivery packages that couldn't be verified. Before going into the field, the system had to become stable and every delivery had to be provable.

The Approach

Instead of rewriting the codebase, I ran a phased finalization plan that preserved the working code and roadmap. Each phase closed with an acceptance checklist and evidence files, and delivery packages were made byte-for-byte reproducible against a SHA-256 manifest. Added the Uber Eats integration as extra work aligned with the contract terms.

Engineering Highlights

  • 175 user-reported issues closed; open P0/P1/P2 bugs brought down to zero.
  • Uber Eats Marketplace: OAuth store provisioning, signed webhook verification and a 30-day personal-data purge.
  • An offline local-network mode so tablets and the kitchen display keep working when the internet drops.
  • Byte-for-byte reproducible delivery packages (v1.0 → v1.2) verified against a 3,031-file SHA-256 manifest.
